CASUAL DAY is nearly here!! Please remember to get stickers for yourself, family, friends and colleagues from Anne or Lilian. We would like to purchase a few new wheelchairs with the funds raised. Please “Up Your Game” for persons with disabilities on Friday, 2 September 2016.
Fire Alert serviced all our Fire Extinguishers and hoses. SWAT Exterminators did their 3 monthly spray against cockroaches.
The Toyota Conquest’s fuel tank had a leak and was taken to Pat Duckham motors for repairs.
The Occupational Therapist from Edendale Hospital made her monthly visit to the Home, she will be coming twice a month in future.
Four new Seminarians from the Seth Mokitimi Methodist Seminary spent time with the residents.
Alison and ladies had fun with the residents singing, reading and acting out a new Bible story.
Three ladies from the SOS Children’s Village donated muffins for the residents to enjoy at tea time
Thank you Parklane SuperSpar for donating the Birthday cake for our monthly party. We celebrated the Birthdays of Biddy (39), Kegan (19), Alex H (31) and Carol (47). Biddy’s parents donated cake for all the staff and residents. Alex’s parents donated biscuits, chips, chocolates and sausage rolls for all the residents. Carol’s family arranged a party with party packs for everyone.
Dr Kirkby made his weekly visits to the Home, where he treated quite a few residents for Upper Respiratory Tract Infections. One of the residents was treated for low blood pressure and two others with cellulitis. Mr Schiffler did foot treatment on one of the residents.
Both Anne and Wendy have been on sick leave. Karin has been covering Wendy’s shift.
Louise was on leave, Mari relieved.
Lilian was on 2 weeks leave.
Anne, Karin and Deshnie held interviews for 2 new care givers. They will be commencing duty from 1 August 2016.
