October has brought great sadness to the Home. We are very sad to inform you that Monica Hayn, Ushen Subramoney and Alex Mainwaring-Burton passed away this month. We would like to extend our most sincere condolences to their families.
Our AGM was held on 22nd October, unfortunately the meeting was not well attended. We would like to thank Feedem for sponsoring the catering.
Our Nativity Play will take place on Sunday, 10 December 2017 at 09h30 for 10h00. Please can you let us know by 30 November whether you will be attending and providing a gift for your child/sibling.
Mega Laundry Equipment came and serviced the industrial washing machine and drier. The D.I.Y. Guy repaired toilets, showers, cupboards, doors, a wheelchair and serviced our brush cutter and generator.
Please note that all Tuck for residents have been stopped as all edible items need to go through the kitchen in future.
The monthly birthday party was held for Thabi (33), Douglas (58), Julile (30), Naquita (23) and Karen G (32). Thank you to Douglas’ family that held a separate party for all the residents. Karen’s family also provided a cake for her birthday.
Dr Kirkby made his weekly visits to the Home and treated a few residents for upper respiratory infections as well as a few other ailments. Three residents were admitted to St Anne’s Hospital, one to Wembley House and another at Hilton Life Hospital.
The Occupational Therapist from Edendale Outreach Programme visited the Home.
Karin was on 2 weeks leave. Daphne and Milly filled in for her.
Milly was off sick, Karin worked her weekend shift.
