Hi All,

Please remember the Nativity Play will take place on Sunday, 10 December 2017 at 09h30 for 10h00.

The residents were all treated to a diabetic-friendly dessert for lunch on World Diabetic Day on 14 November 2017.


Durban Round Table 2 visited the Home and handed over a cheque for the sewerage line and fire escape that was installed, we are very grateful for their generous donation.

The Quantum went in to Toyota to have its back brakes replaced and the front brakes were skimmed.

The DIY Guy bypassed one of the solar geysers, replaced broken windows and stove plates and repaired leaking taps and broken doors.

The Cleaning Specialists cleaned the cooker hood in the kitchen.



The monthly birthday party was held for Demeter (54) and Gavin (56). Demeter’s family held a party for her and the workshop residents. Thank you to the Hattingh’s, Tony Grace & Melanie Buys for donating the birthday cake this month. Parklane Superspar have decided to continue donating the cake for our monthly birthday parties, we would like to thank them for their ongoing support.

Thank you to the Hattingh’s for donating a huge bag of pecan nuts for the residents to enjoy.

A memorial service was held for Alex Mainwaring-Burton in our chapel. A family friend donated a clock in memory of Alex.

The home was visited by Dr Kirkby. He treated some of the residents with chest infections and a few other minor ailments.

Two residents were taken to Northdale Hospital and one to Mediclinic, but fortunately they were not admitted to hospital. Two residents were admitted to Mediclinic, both have since been discharged.

One of the residents had dental treatment under General Anaesthetic at Midlands hospital.

The Occupational Therapist from Edendale Outreach Programme spent some time with the residents in the workshop for the last time, unfortunately this service has been stopped by the hospital.

Some residents went to Wykeham Collegiate’s Christmas Play. The boys choir from Cordwalles School visited and sang Christmas carols for the residents.


Lilian took a week’s leave.

Sagri was on leave, Letitia worked her shift.
